The event commenced with a thorough check of vital signs for all participants, followed by an overview of the day’s agenda by Dr. Ogunlana, Head of the Unit of Neurology Physiotherapy. An opening prayer, led by a patient, set a solemn tone for the proceedings.

A highlight of the session was a discussion on the nature and causes of stroke, during which attendees offered a range of perspectives, from humorous anecdotes to profound insights. Evang. Yeku, Chairman of the association, then delivered an opening address.

Highlights

The subsequent session focused on dietary considerations, led by the distinguished Head of the Dietetics Department, FMCA. Attendees received valuable guidance on nutrition, dispelling common myths.

Following this, a question and answer session with Neurology Consultant, Dr. Aminat Bakare, provided attendees with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of stroke. Dr. Bakare’s expertise and approachable demeanour ensured a productive exchange of information.

Refreshments were served, and a vote of thanks was delivered by PT Jatto, one of our physiotherapists.

In addition, patients seeking consultation with the neurologist were accommodated, ensuring comprehensive care for all attendees. While the event was demanding, the fulfillment derived from serving the community made it worthwhile.
