After the exercise session, the first invited speaker was introduced in the person of Mr. Fatusi from the department of clinical Psychology who spoke and addressed the stroke survivor’s on the topic “Unconditional self acceptance” His major point on the topic was how patients can take good care of themselves not minding their present health status, he further addressed the stroke survivor’s not to consider their health status a spiritual attack but rather, a medical condition which was caused by some underlying health factor and they shouldn’t compare themselves in any way with anyone. He also advised the patients to rest well and take their medications regularly as prescribed by the doctor.

The second speaker was invited in person of Miss Abiri from the Occupational therapy unit who emphasized on how stroke survivor’s can be of relevance to themselves and people around them by involving themselves in some day to day activities or house chores which will serve as a form of exercise to their bodies and not be dependent always on their caregivers but rather be independent. Therefore, the stroke survivor’s were advised to visit the OT unit for more practicable explanations.
